Markdown renderers find it easier to determine
where lists start and end when lists are surrounded
by new lines.

For consistency, also ensure entries in the list
are aligned when they span multipls lines.

note that "only" and "so we _strongly_ recommend" is becoming suspect.
It may be considered worthwhile to change it, but in turn it would fail to 
explain why GitLab requires that both methods are enabled

- Also makes other minor Markdown fixes that were near the main fixes.

I wanted to practice GFM markdown, so I picked this page more or
less at random. I flattened out the text a little. It's not as
interesting, but will be easier to translate. Use it if it looks
like an improvement. If not, at least I got some practice out of the deal!
